This past Thursday night, Super Art Fight returned to The Ottobar and left it forever changed with Super Art Fight 4!
Over the course of the evening, we presented 3 bouts of a level unseen by SAF audiences before, and the excitement was high as a new SAF roster member was brought in, Chris Impink broke his losing streak, and we gained a new Super Art Fight champion in Michael Bracco!
Full Results:
“Do Or Die” Battle Royale: Kelsey Wailes defeats Chris Flick, Bryan Prindiville, Dirk Tiede, Kaitlin Smallwood and Robin Edwards to become the newest full-time member of the Super Art Fight Roster! An incredible performance by all 6 competitors, and although only Kelsey has a guaranteed spot, every one of the competitors will be welcomed back with open arms to Super Art Fight competitions in the future. True talent was on display here, folks!
Open Challenge Answered!: Chris Impink (1-2) defeats Jamie Baldwin (1-2). It looks like the new attitude for Jamie Baldwin didn’t lead to victory, as she was defeated in a surprise turn of events leading to the first on record victory for Chris Impink! It seems that Baldwin is already doing what she can to prevent her losing streak, immediately firing her new management post-match. Luckily, thanks to DJ Sheephead, the Keyboard Cat was able to play him off.
Fatal 4-Way For The Super Art Fight Championship: Michael Bracco(3-1) defeated Champion Garth Graham (2-1), Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz (1-3) and Jami “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi (1-2). For the first time in Super Art Fight history, the Championship was defended in a Fatal 4-Way, and to Graham’s credit, he did everything he could to keep the belt around his waist (even drawing on the BACK of a canvas!), but in the end, the numbers game was too much for him, as the rising star of Michael Bracco won over the crowd, and won him the Super Art Fight championship.
Where We Go From Here:
The long running Borkowicz/Noguchi fued came to an end at this show, and we’re happy to say it ended with a handshake. They’ve shared 3 main events at Super Art Fight, and are now both ready to work their way back up. Where will they be next? Stay tuned.
Michael Bracco emerged as the first star to really work up the rankings at Super Art Fight, moving from an opening card loss to winning the main event at arguably our biggest show to date. But now he faces the Super Art Fight Championship curse. 2 champions to date, and NEITHER has survived their first defense! Will he be able to walk out of Super Art Fight 5 as champion?
Kelsey Wailes made a name for herself in the opening bout, but now she has the veteran roster to take on at future shows. She’s proven that she can stand out from the pack, but can she stand along side the existing roster? Our locker room believes that she can, as they chose her as the victor–but only time will tell!
Chris Impink FINALLY gets his due, and don’t think he isn’t planning on adding another victory to his win collum. Impink was the man who inspired Art Fight with his Iron Artist competition, and you have to believe a shot at the Championship is in his wishes. Will he make it to the top of the mountain?
Next Live Events On Tap:

-After that at 10:20pm: the open challenge is answered, as Chris Impink takes on Jamie Baldwin. The bout has a 45 minute time limit. 3 members of the audience will be chosen to serve as the “judges” to select the winner, so keep your eyes on the canvas and have your picks ready – anyone could take the match at ANY time!
-Then at 11:15pm – The Clockwork Dolls ascend the stage for mini-set number two!
-Finally, at 11:35pm, after seven months, the Super Art Fight Championship will be defended, as Garth Graham defends his belt against Michael Bracco, Nick Borkowicz and former champion Jami Noguchi. After ONE HOUR of battling, only one can be victor, and you – THE AUDIENCE – will make that selection. Will we have a 3rd champion in as many defenses? Will Garth Graham continue his undefeated streak, and be the first champion to make it past defense #1?
All these questions and SO much more will be answered Tonight at The Ottobar at Super Art Fight 4!
Last, but not least…for you tech savvy folks, follow us on Twitter at @SuperArtFight. We’ll be posting live results and images all show long (including behind the scenes info during setup), and for those of you in attendance, we invite you to use the hashtag #SuperArtFight to catalog your comments throughout the show. We’ll be watching them all night, and maybe even read them ON STAGE.
We’ve been delivering updates and hype for almost two months now, and tonight is where we deliver you…and we promise, we will. There’s a reason why we call Super Art Fight the greatest live art competition in the universe, and at Super Art Fight 4 we will prove it.
With just ONE WEEK remaining until Super Art Fight storms the doors of the Ottobar and sets Baltimore aflame with Super Art Fight 4, we’re dotting our I’s and crossing our T’s.
And the latest and greatest thing checked off on the “To Do” list is this…
The Super Art Fight 4 Topic Suggestion Post!
New to Super Art Fight? Here’s the deal:
All Super Art Fight bouts are fought under the ever seeing eye of the Wheel of Death. This topic generator uses fan suggested topics (that’s you!) which the competing artists are assigned at scheduled intervals throughout the course of their bouts.
These suggestions can be as complex as “A Carrot!” or elaborate as “Ninjas vs. Zombies Dodgeball”.
Please keep your suggestions to a short word length (the Wheel of Death is only able to display so many characters), but aside from that…no suggestions are barred!
So get to suggestin’ in the comments!
Be sure to join us on July 16th at The Ottobar for Super Art Fight 4 to see which topics make it to the boards from THE WHEEL OF DEATH!
EDIT: Thank you all for your amazing suggestions. While they’ll have to be edited for length, we are completely humbled by the outpouring of suggestions, and of your support in general.
With just 10 days remaining until the talented artists of Super Art Fight grace the Ottobar stage once more for Super Art Fight 4, we’re going bananas behind the scenes, finalizing all the details before we go live at 9pm on July 16th.
One of the details we’ve been working on was putting together the full lineup for the Do Or Die Battle Royale.
Incase you missed our video update on the matter, here’s what makes this special battle royale such a “do or die” moment for the talent involved.
All 6 participants in this bout are brand-new to the Super Art Fight stage, and after battling for 30 relentless minutes, they will be judged…not by the audience as per normal, but by a jury of their peers – The Super Art Fight roster.
The winner that evening will be offered a slot on the regular Super Art Fight roster. Literally, on July 16th, you will be witness to the birth of the next Super Art Fight superstar!
So, without further adieu…who’s on tap?
Previously announced:
Dirk Tiede – The creator/artist behind the online manga Paradigm Shift, Tiede joins us all the way from Boston, MA, and intends to bring his craft to a new level on the Super Art Fight canvas!
Kelsey Wailes – Having built her name on DeviantArt, Kelsey is a diverse artist who can not only wow you with her skill at adorable chibi art, she can also make your jaw drop with realistic portraits. Best known for her pop culture referencing art, she’s armed with the tools to take on not just her fellow competitiors, but also the omni-present Wheel of Death.
Just announced:
Kaitlin Smallwood – A friend and rival to Kelsey Wailes, Kaitlin brings an anime styled discipline to Super Art Fight. She’s been wowing viewers at DeviantArt, but can she take her skills to the next level at the Ottobar?
Bryan Prindiville – Bryan’s taken on the massive canvas before at Katsucon 15′s Iron Artist VIII as part of a team with Applegeek’s Mohammed “Hawk” Haque, but he’s never been a part of Super Art Fight proper. He’s wowed our roster with his diverse comic work as illustrator of Hello With Cheese and as creator of Bedlam Court, but how will he hold up against five opponents and without a partner?
Robin Edwards – As part of the wildly popular Strawberry Comics collective, Robin has cut her teeth in the comics world with such series as Cardboard Angel, TV Circuit, Hang In There Shimura, and Fractured Kisses. But she looks to strike out beyond her “cute” artistic stylings and bring the PAIN as part of the “Do or Die” Battle Royale! Will July 16th be her night?
Chris Flick – Last, but far from least, is Chris Flick, the artist/creator of Capes & Babes. Chris brings two major strengths to the table in this first ever six way art fight…his experience, and his traditional cartooning style. Flick brings time-tested fundimentals to the Battle Royale, and it is his adherence to these classic styles which may give him the inside advantage over his risk-taking opponents.
Six Competitors. One gigantic canvas. ONE SLOT ON THE SUPER ART FIGHT ROSTER.
Who will make their name at the Ottobar on July 16th? Join us live and find out who survives!
It’s not enough that he was voted Best in Baltimore by the City Paper…
He now has people forming alliances against him…
…and he’s got to defeat 3 of SAF’s best in Jami Noguchi, Nick Borkowicz and Garth Graham to win the Super Art Fight Championship on July 16th at the Ottobar at Super Art Fight 4.
So how is he feeling? Where is his head at?
Our roving film crew met him in front of a pretty sweet mural, so he can drop a lil’ knowledge heading into the biggest night of his Super Art Fight career.
