SAF4 Update: Minutes ‘Til Showtime

show

Wow.

Seriously, wow.

We are beyond excited and very humbled here, as we spend our last few moments getting ready before Super Art Fight 4 goes live at 9pm EST at The Ottobar.

Because of you, the wonderful reader of this site, we have broken all site traffic records, we have broken all Wheel of Death suggestion records, and we are ready to set the world a flame with this, our fourth major event.

Never the less, there is still business to cover before showtime, and that’s what this post is for.

First, for those of you heading from The Baltimore Convention Center (for Otakon badge pickup) to the Ottobar, here are the easy to follow directions (courtesy of Google Maps):

2. W Pratt St turns slightly right and becomes S Charles St – 436 ft
3. Make a U-turn at Perry St – 0.2 mi
4. Turn left at W Lombard St – 0.2 mi
5. Turn right at S Howard St  Destination will be on the right – 2.2 mi

Secondly , the SCHEDULE FOR THE EVENING!

-Doors will promptly open at The Ottobar at 8pm.  You can come in, grab a cool drink, look at our merch (including the first Super Art Fight t-shirts for sale, just $20!), mingle with your fellow audience members, and maybe say hi to some of the artists and hosts milling about the venue!

-At 9pm, our Super Art Fight hosts, Marty Day and Ross Nover will take the stage, introing the night’s festivities, and bringing you new attendees up to par with what the Super Art Fight live experience is all about.

-At 9:15pm, the “DO OR DIE” Battle Royale will hit the stage.  The artists on tap are: Dirk Tiede, Kelsey Wailes, Kaitlin Smallwood, Bryan Prindiville, Robin Edwards and Chris Flick.  The bout has a 45 minute time-limit, and will use the theme “Transformation”.

-Once the bout has completed, 4 members of the Super Art Fight roster will deliberate, and then choose the WINNER of the bout, who will be given a slot on the Super Art Fight roster!

-Immediately following at 10pm, the first of two mini-sets of the evening from our musical guest – The Clockwork Dolls!

-After that at 10:20pm: the open challenge is answered, as Chris Impink takes on Jamie Baldwin. The bout has a 45 minute time limit.  3 members of the audience will be chosen to serve as the “judges” to select the winner, so keep your eyes on the canvas and have your picks ready – anyone could take the match at ANY time!

-Then at 11:15pm – The Clockwork Dolls ascend the stage for mini-set number two!

-Finally, at 11:35pm, after seven months, the Super Art Fight Championship will be defended, as Garth Graham defends his belt against Michael Bracco, Nick Borkowicz and former champion Jami Noguchi.  After ONE HOUR of battling, only one can be victor, and you – THE AUDIENCE – will make that selection.  Will we have a 3rd champion in as many defenses? Will Garth Graham continue his undefeated streak, and be the first champion to make it past defense #1?

All these questions and SO much more will be answered Tonight at The Ottobar at Super Art Fight 4!

Last, but not least…for you tech savvy folks, follow us on Twitter at @SuperArtFight.  We’ll be posting live results and images all show long (including behind the scenes info during setup), and for those of you in attendance, we invite you to use the hashtag #SuperArtFight to catalog your comments throughout the show.  We’ll be watching them all night, and maybe even read them ON STAGE.

We’ve been delivering updates and hype for almost two months now, and tonight is where we deliver you…and we promise, we will.  There’s a reason why we call Super Art Fight the greatest live art competition in the universe, and at Super Art Fight 4 we will prove it.
