Back on May 22nd, we had the absolute honor and pleasure of being a part of the first ever Innovate Love show.
An art auction event to benefit the Baltimore Love Project, our co-founders and artists Nick Borkowicz and Jami Noguchi performed a live mural that evening which had the live audiences enthralled and captivated.
But don’t let just our words set the tone – check out the full article on the event from the awesome online magazine What Weekly, if just because of the great ways they describe us.
I’m not sure how apt “a band of wandering artists with superpowers and anger management issues” is, but I sure think it’s going on our next poster.
This weekend the Super Art Fight 2010 “Eh, What The Hell, Let’s Go.” World Tour continues with our New Jersey debut as a part of Wild Pig Comic Con.
For those unfamiliar, Wild Pig Comics was a HUGE comic book retailer in the New Jersey area, and they’ve decided to shift into offering their yearly 50% off sale as a two day convention!
60,000 Back Issues and 2,000 Trades will be available at 50% off, and if that wasn’t enough, we at Super Art Fight will be doing our thing and having a 3-bout show at 4pm on Saturday, May 15th!
The card will be kept secret until showtime, but with an amazing Guest List featuring SAF competitors current and past, it’s sure to be one for the record books.
If that wasn’t enough, Super Art Fight will be in effect all weekend long, as we have our brand new merchandise line, with screen printed t-shirts and color prints featuring art from the SAF Roster!
Let’s face it, if you’re in the New Jersey area, and you’re NOT at Wild Pig Con, you’re missing out. Admission is just $5, and full details can be found at the official website here.
We at Super Art Fight are more than just a rag-tag bunch of artist combatants mixed with smart-ass commentators. We’re also a group of talented individuals who love to give back – and that’s why we’re super stoked to announce our live mural appearance at Innovate Love on May 22nd.
A combined effort by the fine folks at Innovate Baltimore and the Baltimore Love Project, Innovate Love is a silent art auction event to be held at Silo Point, with all proceeds being split between both organizations.
We’ll be in attendance producing a stunning piece of art as only we can, and as for the rest of the details, we have the official flyer above, and the official press release below. We’re quite excited about this unique opportunity, and hope to see you there!
Innovate Baltimore and the Baltimore Love Project invite you to the first annual silent art auction party, Innovate Love. Featuring leading artists from the Baltimore area and beyond, the “Innovate Love” theme celebrates the efforts of both groups to unite Baltimore residents in creative ways. Over 40 artists have created an original piece that revolves around the theme, including Baltimore’s own Whitney Sherman whose title piece will be available for raffle at the event. All attendees will receive a limited edition print of her piece as a gift from Archival Arts.
Innovate Love will take place in the penthouse at Silo Point Luxury Condominiums, located at 1200 Steuart Street. Guests will enjoy live music by DJ Terry Thompson while browsing the art on display, watching Super Art Fight create live murals, and experiencing the breath-taking views of the city skyline and harbor from the penthouse windows.
Tickets are $25 and include a special menu of savory hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Frederick “Mookie” Hicks, mini cupcakes from Cake by Carolyn, and a cash bar.
Cocktail Attire Suggested.
Visit www.innovate-love.com for more information and the auction preview images. Proceeds from the auction benefit Innovate Baltimore and the Baltimore Love Project, a 501(c)(3) non profit public benefit corporation.
As we wait for ROFLCon to post up the offiical footage from our show this past weekend, a really sneaky audience member TAPED THE WHOLE THING from his seat in the audience!
If that wasn’t enough, he even posted it in glorious HD!
So, if you missed it or want to relive every awkward moment, here you go. Click play and enjoy!
If you’ve been following our Twitter for the past few weeks, you know that we’ve been making rumblings about finding the proper way to celebrate our birthday.
While technically our date of inception is June 1st, that’s a Tuesday this year…and that isn’t very festive.
So it was after we had a talk with our good buddies at The Metro Gallery that we got a crazy idea. One so crazy that it’d have to work.
Saturday Night, July 17th. Super Art Fight 7. The Metro Gallery.
As a part of the weekend long celebration of the arts, Artscape 2010…we at Super Art Fight are proud to present one of our biggest events to date, as we not just celebrate 2 years of being the greatest live art competition in the known universe, we’re giving a gift to you, our fans….as admission is 100% FREE.
Keep your eyes on SuperArtFight.com and our Twitter for more details including talent, card, musical guest and more as we make our mark on one of the most important weekends of the summer…Artscape weekend. We’re going to blow you away.
This past weekend, we at Super Art Fight had the honor and pleasure to make our Boston-area debut as a part of ROFLCon II.
Featuring 3 of the most outrageous bouts in SAF history, a show unlike any other was had, and we loved every minute of it. And apparently, you did as well – making us, if only for a short period, the #1 trending topic on Twitter in the Boston Area. (Holy Crap!)
In case you missed it, here’s what went down -
BOUT 1: Yuko Ota (Johnny Wander) defeated Super Art Fight Champion (and ROFLCon foursquare mayor) Jamie Baldwin (Sudden Valley).
For those who saw these bouts, you know that they were truly pushing the limits of the art of artistic combat, and a prime example of what makes Super Art Fight one of the greatest spectacles going today.
We’d once again like to thank all the artists for participating (including Tony Daniels, who offered to be an alternate), Kris Straub for joining us on commentary, ROFLCon for hosting us, MIT for being an amazing venue, and you, the fans, for making it another show for the record books.
If you missed it, videos are being posted up by users on YouTube and all kinds of photos are up on Flickr, so the power of crowdsourcing is in full effect.
It was truly an honor and pleasure to make our Boston debut, and believe us when we say – we can’t wait to come back to the area. Keep an eye here, on our Twitter, or join our mailing list to the right to stay on top of future dates!
