June 21st, 2010 — Show Announcements

In the year of our lord, 2001, the Iron Artist competition was invented. Pitting artist’s against each other in a live art competition based on the popular Iron Chef TV series, it was in many ways, the prototype for what became Super Art Fight.
The creator of Iron Artist? Our own Chris “Impact” Impink.
In June 2008, Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi teamed with Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz to take Iron Artis out of the anime conventions and into the rock clubs, placing it under the new title of “Art Fight”.
It was an immediate success, and quickly grew into the show who’s website you’re now reading – Super Art Fight.
As the shows grew, Chris Impink became a member of the roster, as did Jamie Noguchi. Noguchi, given the name of co-founder, rose through the ranks quickly, becoming the first ever Super Art Fight Champion. By comparison, Impink, called a godfather by those who knew the true origins of SAF…did not receive that respect. He hasn’t been to the top. He hasn’t held the championship. He doesn’t get the credit.
So, while the card was formulating for Super Art Fight 7, our 2nd Birthday Celebration, a free live event occurring during Artscape at The Metro Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland, Chris Impink picked up the phone.
Tired of being a second stringer, tired of being ignored, Chris had one demand.
On one of the most important shows, on one of the most important days in Super Art Fight history…Chris wants Noguchi in a first time ever one-on-one bout.
That match? IMMEDIATELY approved.
On July 17th, in Baltimore, Maryland…Jamie Noguchi is going to feel the Impact.

July 2009. Hartford, Connecticut. Connecticon 2009.

Upon his defeat and loss of the Super Art Fight championship at Super Art Fight 6, Michael Bracco dusted himself off, looked at where he was in the scheme of the SAF world, and made some important decisions.
Over the past 5 shows, Bracco had started from the bottom and built himself up to the top of the Art Fight world. Nicknamed a “Supernova”, he had only one prior defeat under his belt – that against the same woman who dethroned him as champion, Jamie Baldwin.
Aside from that loss, he proved himself against every other opponent placed in front of him. Jami Noguchi, Nick Borkowicz, Chris Impink – all important names in SAF history…and Bracco held victories over all of them. So his decision was simple – start back from the bottom, work his way up…and be back on top as the first ever two-time SAF Champ.
A bold decision, but the next choice he made was bolder…not only would he work his way up, but he wanted to challenge himself with each new opponent he faced. New faces, new names, he wanted to take them on. Bracco made his choices known to the SAF Championship Committee, and there was but one person who fit the bill – Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville.
Since his on-canvas debut at Super Art Fight 4, Prindiville has made a name for himself in the world of creative combat – but it hasn’t been in what he has said…it’s always been in his actions.
The man who left Danielle Corsetto covered in red ink, the man who proved himself as one of the top talents in the first ever Do or Die battle royale, the man who will clash with Michael Bracco on July 17th – all the same individual: Bryan Prindiville.
Saturday, July 17th – The Metro Gallery – Baltimore, Maryland – Super Art Fight 7…BE THERE, as we present a first ever one-on-one bout….
Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville vs. Michael Bracco
June 4th, 2010 — Show Announcements

Coming out of Super Art Fight 6, two things were very clear.
One – Jamie Baldwin had made history, becoming the first ever female Super Art Fight Champion in her amazing victory over long-time generation rival Michael Bracco.
Two – Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz had ended a long losing streak, raising himself back up to the top of the competition he himself invented, defeating former SAF Champion Garth Graham and becoming #1 contender to the championship.
So, it’s an honor and pleasure to announce that on July 17th at The Metro Gallery, as we celebrate 2 years of Super Art Fight in an unprecedented free live event during Artscape weekend, that headlining Super Art Fight 7 will be the main event of…
Jamie Baldwin (Champion) vs. Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz (Challenger)
This is a first time one on one bout, with Baldwin and Borkowicz only squaring off once before, as part of a battle royal back at Super Art Fight 3. Each competitor has seen every level of SAF competition, from the top to the bottom, and make for one of the most even bouts in some time.
In recent “on the road” matches, Baldwin has started to feel the so called “Curse” of the SAF championship, dropping losses to competitors such as Yuko Ota in Boston, and Borkowicz has been keeping his skill up, with strong on the road victories (including one over former SAF Champion Michael Bracco at Katsucon 16). It’s really anyone’s bout, and will make Super Art Fight 7 a night to remember.
So what are you waiting for? Make your plans now – join us on Saturday Night, July 17th at The Metro Gallery in Baltimore for ABSOLUTELY FREE, and see who leaves SAF7 as champion!
June 1st, 2010 — Uncategorized

If you look at the calendar, today is June 1st. Should you be the type to keep tabs on this sort of thing, this date is Super Art Fight‘s official date of birth, having first reared it’s ugly head on June 1st, 2008 at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland.
Back then, it was just an Art Fight, nothing more, pitting Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz against Jami “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi in the first such bout. Set as an upstairs attraction during an MC Chris/Karmella’s Game show, we had no idea what would happen.
But here we are, 2 years later. We’ve grown to a steady roster of 9, featured some of the greatest artists across the Globe, and expanded our shows from one venue in Maryland to shows up and down the East Coast. And this is just the tip of the iceburg.
We’ve never been one to rest on our laurels and on this occasion of our “birth” so to say, we aren’t going to make an exception.
Starting later this week, we start announcing the bouts for Super Art Fight 7, on July 17th at The Metro Gallery in Baltimore. The bouts feature some of our best, and as our gift, admission is free. Get ready for one hell of a night.
