After an amazing 2010 which has included 13 live shows (to date); jaw-dropping, record setting crowds and some of our greatest bouts to date, we at Super Art Fight are ready to give back to you, the fan.
How?
As Super Art Fight 8 is our last, full-scale live event for 2010, we’re going out with a bang…and arguably our best live music act to date.
On Friday, October 15th at The Ottobar, not only will you get to see a full length Super Art Fight card – you’ll get to see the self-proclaimed world’s 579th best rapper, the nerdcore legend himself…
MC FRONTALOT!
Made famous all across the web due to his amazing albums, not to mention his show stopping performances at every PAX to date, it’s an honor and a pleasure to feature MC Frontalot as a part of our next event.
Touring behind his latest album Zero Day, the addition of MC Frontalot will undoubtedly make Super Art Fight 8 one of the hottest tickets this fall, so we highly recommend getting your tickets early. Stay tuned to this site, our mailing list (you can sign up on the right), our Twitter and our Facebook to find out when tickets go on sale!
Never heard MC Frontalot before? Check out his latest video, for the track “Spoiler Alert”.
Be there, or miss out on one of the greatest shows of ALL TIME! ALL TIME!
3 amazing bouts, 2 amazing shows and 1 new event, the first ever Intervention proved to be an interesting one for both fans and our artists, and will be ranked as one of the most memorable events of the year!
First, at 6pm on Saturday was the main Super Art Fight event. Featuring 3 bouts, the results were as follows…
H. Caldwell Tanner defeated Bree Rubin, Ami Bogin and Alex Heberling in a “Do or Die” Battle Royale. In an amazing art fight pitting Rock v. Paper v. Scissors v. Hippos, Caldwell Tanner proved himself the top artist in an evenly matched bout full of amazing rookie talent! Don’t be surprised to see all four competitors in the results of art fights to come!
TAG TEAM WAR: Jami “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi & Chris “Impact” Impink defeated Kelsey Wailes & Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville Wild was the name of the game here, with both teams taking full advantage of the tag rules, resulting in innovative art and a relentless pace. Prindiville & Wailes may have revived their SAF5 team, but unfortunately for them the battle ended the same way, on the losing end. In particular, this was a pro-Impink crowd. Thanks to Jami for making the rush from SPX to make it for this bout.
MAIN EVENT: Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz defeated Dirk Tiede. With his rematch against Jamie Baldwin in his sights, Borkowicz refused to let up with an easy opponent, and Tiede certainly took Borkowicz to the limit in this one. Unfortunately for Tiede, he was going against one of the true SAF greats, and Borkowicz took the win in the end.
What came at 10pm, however, was something people will not be forgetting for some time – Super Art Fight: UNLEASHED.
Equal parts panel and artistic demonstration, this allowed the roster and staff of Super Art Fight to share the uncensored stories from behind the scenes, while our artists created some of the most disturbing imagery ever rendered to foam-core. All details of the evening will remain with those who attended, but based on the positive reaction, we’re going to try to do future events like this at cons moving forward. Stay tuned for that!
Big thanks again to Onezumi and Harknell for having us, and huge props to all the artists and attendees who made the first ever Intervention a great success! See you all at Intervention 2!
This weekend, we are proud and honored to be a part of the inaugural Intervention convention in Rockville, Maryland!
Starting on Friday, September 10th and going through Sunday, September 12th, it’s going to be 3 crazy days of the greatest comics and creativity from across the web, live and in person.
And this non-stop, 72 hour riot of awesome includes not just one, but TWO Super Art Fight events!
Both events are on Saturday, and here’s what you’ll be seeing.
Saturday Night at 6pm – SUPER ART FIGHT LIVE! – a full two-hour event including 3 bouts and the return of the DO OR DIE BATTLE ROYALE!
Then, at 10pm, we bring you SUPER ART FIGHT UNLEASHED! This one hour panel not only will give unique insight to the behind the scenes creative process of Super Art Fight, but will also include our artists drawing some of the most twisted ideas that come to mind. 18+, of course.
Amongst the talents appearing for us this weekend:
Originally, the You-Pick Main Event of Super Art Fight 8 was going to be a fun and joyous moment.
With a clear victor from the fans, we’d have a great main event scheduled, and all would fall into place from there.
Unfortunately, due to some last minute technical issues, confusion, and some very dedicated voters, the victor of the poll could not have been more in question.
If you awoke this morning (or scroll down) to see the full results of the poll, you’d see the following:
Chelsea “Grose Misconduct” Grose – 52% of the vote – 8779 votes.
Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz – 48% of the vote – 8137 votes.
Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco – 0% of the vote – 126 votes.
But then a loyal fan e-mailed us a screencap that put it all into question – at just moments past 12:00am EST (the scheduled end for the poll) votes remained open, and Nick Borkowicz had an impressive lead. The victory was his…or was it?
With the Polling plug-in we chose malfunctioning, and allowing votes well past midnight, the outcome was changed, although still rather close between Grose and Borkowicz. So we had to break down, look back through the votes and see what happened.
Looking at all votes cast after midnight, here’s what we saw:
Chelsea Grose – 2333 Votes Cast After Midnight.
Nick Borkowicz – 87 Votes Cast After Midnight.
Michael Bracco – 0 Votes Cast After Midnight.
A very impressive surge of votes for Chelsea…just not at the right time.
After eliminating all votes cast after midnight, your new standings are as follows:
Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz – 8050 Votes
Chelsea “Grose Misconduct” Grose – 6446 Votes
Michael Bracco – 126 Votes
The answer you see is clear – Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz Will Be Challenging Jamie “Brawlin’” Baldwin for the SAF Title At SUPER ART FIGHT 8!
But worry NOT, Chelsea Grose fans, as in the second half of a double main event, for the #1 Contendership to the SAF TITLE, it will be – Chelsea “Grose Misconduct” Grose vs. Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco!
All that and more will be going down at The Ottobar, on Friday, October 15th! Be sure to join us, won’t you?
We apologize greatly for any confusion or misunderstandings for our great fans (and the competitors as well), and next time, we’ll test out a plug-in more before using it on such a high-stakes decision. We hope you understand our decision, and we all look forward to a great show on October 15th!
As you can see below, the Super Art Fight 8 main event voting has completed, and after a jawdropping 17,000+ votes, the victor with 52% of the vote is Chelsea “Grose Misconduct” Grose!
…or was she?
A fan of Super Art Fight e-mailed over a screencap taken just minutes after midnight EST, and it shows a very different outcome for the poll.

As of that time, Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz had 55%, with a commanding lead of 1500 votes!
So, what went wrong? Honestly – we’re not 100% sure. Dealing with new polling software, the poll is/was set to close at midnight. We’re looking into the logs of the poll to make a final decision.
That decision will be announced tonight, and rest assured, we will insure a quality main event for Super Art Fight 8!
Stay tuned to SuperArtFight.com for more details, and tonight’s decision.
