November 29th, 2011 — Show Coverage
Folks, it’s been 9 days since our final show of 2011, the absolutely stupendous Super Art Fight 12. Having featured two amazing live musical performances from Rare Candy and Adam WarRock respectively, the night was set off right by the bands presented – but what will continue to be talked about are the four amazing bouts that evening, which resulted in the crowning of ALL NEW CHAMPIONS.
Here’s what went down…
Super Art Fight Title #1 Contender’s Bout: Jamie “Brawlin’” Baldwin defeated Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi (w/ Mecha Impact 3.0) and Chelsea “Grose Misconduct” Grose.
The result for this absolutely insane bout was one definitely fraught in controversy – it seems that Jamie Baldwin simply cannot avoid it when it comes to her and key victories. Team Impact’s full effect was felt, with antics from both Impact and Noguchi, and Chelsea Grose made a solid return to the SAF canvas, after being away due to CCRG duties, but at the end, there was only one winner. With a full decible point in her favor, Jamie Baldwin wins a title shot in 2012, and she might just be on her way to her second SAF title!
Super Art Fight Tag Team Title Bout: “The Business” Henry Alexander & “Charm City Shinobi” Dann Malihom defeated Nick “Ghostfreehood” DiFabbio & Kelsey “Killer” Wailes to become the NEW CHAMPIONS.
The wind of change was certainly felt in the air at the Ottobar, as the team of Super Art Fight IDOL finalists Alexander & Malihom secured their name in SAF history, as the second ever SAF tag champions. For the Doctor Who loving duo of Nick and Kelsey, their crazed tag team reign ends almost as quickly as it started, and now they are a duo in flux (more to come on that). This was arguably the wildest bout of the evening, and while you may question how Alexander secured the tag title shot, there’s no doubt that he is the Business…and Business is good.
Battle of the Big Men! Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville defeated Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau
They weren’t the flashiest, they weren’t the most extreme, but when it came down to pure on canvas action, Prindiville and Gnau had it in spades. Two of the most physically intimidating SAF competitors went literally toe to toe, and when the dust cleared, the returning Bryan Prindiville nabbed the victory. But it sure seems these competitors have a level of respect for each other. What will this mean for Team Impact?
Super Art Fight Title Bout: “The Nicest Man in Art Fight” Brandon J. Carr defeated Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco to become the NEW SUPER ART FIGHT CHAMPION.
Wow. At the beginning of this year, Brandon J. Carr was making his Ottobar debut against Caldwell Tanner, and Michael Bracco was securing his second SAF title from the waist of Jamie Baldwin. What an amazing difference a year makes. The dapper Carr was as always, respectful, showing former Champion Bracco respect on the way out, and issuing a new age in Super Art Fight. At the end of SAF 12, one thing was clear – the new generation was here, and they are here to stay.
What to Look For in 2012?
-With Brandon Carr, Dann Malihom and Henry Alexander securing titles at SAF 12, a new generation movement has taken SAF by storm. At the beginning of 2011, none of these competitors were regulars, and now they are at the top of the game – there’s a very good chance that the champions we have at the end of next year haven’t even tackled the canvas yet!
-But don’t count out the vets! Jamie Baldwin is primed to go for a second SAF title, Nick DiFabbio wants to rebuild his name as a singles star, and Team Impact wants all the gold – who, of these competitors, will make it to title contention in 2012?
-Speaking of Team Impact – now that the 3rd Man, Bryan Prindiville is making friends with Darl Gnau, is he on the outs? Or will Team Impact’s roster now be a team of FOUR?
-Michael Bracco was seen after his bout discussing tag team strategy with a prominent member of the SAF roster – could he be aiming for tag gold in 2012?
Stick around, as all this and more comes to a head next year – our 2012 season kicks off with MAGFest in January, and who knows what will happen! Thank you so much for supporting us through 2011, and we cannot wait to take it to the next level next year. We will see you soon!

Welp, it seems that the Super Art Fight roster now has a complete understanding of the internet, as much of the crew has taken to YouTube over the past few days to give their thoughts on Super Art Fight 12, coming up at The Ottobar, THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, November 19th, 2011.
It first started with this video statement from Henry Alexander…
Then we got these strong words from Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco, in response to his challenger for the SAF title, Brandon J. Carr.
Then, one half of the Super Art Fight tag team champions, Kelsey “Killer” Wailes, in her ‘Stompadon’ persona, had this to say to her opponents for the evening, “The Business” Henry Alexander and “Charm City Shinobi” Dann Malihom.
Her tag partner, Nick “Ghostfreehood” DiFabbio also had this to say.
Your guess as good as ours.
Last, but far from least, earlier this morning, Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi had this word, not just for his two opponents (Chelsea Grose & Jamie Baldwin), but for the ENTIRE Super Art Fight roster.
As you can see, tensions are high, and with just FIVE days until showtime, the SAF lockeroom is a powderkeg ready to explode.
What will happen at Super Art Fight 12? Only one way to find out – join us live and in person, THIS SATURDAY NIGHT.
Tickets are on sale NOW at MissionTix.com and are going fast. Go get them. NOW!

Super Art Fight 12 is proving to not just be another night of astonishing artwork and eye popping excitement, it’s also proving to be a great night full of great music.
Since we’ve started doing shows, almost three and a half years ago, our goal has not just to put the spotlight on ourselves, but to share it with acts that we really enjoy, and hope you will too – November 19th at The Ottobar is no different!
Our opening musical act is one our fans should be more than familiar with, the indomitable Rare Candy! Having joined us for our first Ottobar event of the year, and also this past weekend in DC, this amazing four piece of video game rockers has blown minds all across the East Coast, and we look forward to having them join us for our final show of the year. Truly a joy each time they play, we can’t wait to rock out with them one last time in 2011.
Then, as our headliner…
…this time, we aimed for something a little different. Typically, we pick a band we love, and we KNOW you’ll love. Peelander-Z. Anamanaguchi. MC Frontalot. The list goes on.
This time, we thought we’d try to jump ahead of the curve and give you an artist we KNOW you’ll be loving in 2012 and beyond. And THAT man is Adam WarRock.
Nerdcore rapper? Sure, the title can apply. But what the man is more, is one of the finest purveyors of comic book hip hop we’ve ever heard, and once we heard him, we KNEW we had to bring them to you, the Super Art Fight audience. The man has made mix tapes about the Browncoats, dropped tracks about Spider-Man just days after SDCC, and apparently has never seen Doctor Who, but the fact is, he’s one of our people – and he’s going to blow your mind on November 19th. Having just made his name on the national Race Wars tour (featuring MC Lars and MC Chris), we know that this is a dude who will become one of your favorites, so be sure to see him and say that you knew him before he was “cool”.
Two great musical acts. Four astonishing Super Art Fight bouts. It all adds up to an unforgettable night at the Ottobar, and that’s what it will be on November 19th for Super Art Fight 12. Get your tickets NOW!

So after the lack of set #1 contender after Super Art Fight 11, and the rather…unique way that Brandon J. Carr received his shot at the Super Art Fight Championship, the SAF Championship Committee wanted to make sure of two things…

Coming out of the insanity that was Super Art Fight 11, you may have noticed that there was no crowning of a proper number one contender for the Super Art Fight Championship, currently held by Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco.
In turn, the Super Art Fight Championship Committee started looking at the entire Super Art Fight roster, past and present, striving to find a proper challenger to Michael Bracco. They weighed win/loss records, experience level, and even intangible concepts like levels of fan interest and whether it would be a first time bout.
But in the end, it was a simple letter that won one of our competitors the title shot. A letter hand delivered by courier, with flowers and a box of chocolates, this letter came to the SAF Offices and earned this person the shot at SAF12. We now present this letter in full.
My Dear Art Fight Commissioners -
I’ve thought long and hard about what I’m about to request and feel that I am well within my rights to request it. For too long has the Super Art Fight title been held by the brutish Michael Bracco (that’s unfair, of course…Mr. Bracco is genuinely both intelligent and friendly (also, as a side note, handsome) and I’m wrong to suggest otherwise, so please forgive me) and it is high time another champion rose up and deposed him in his reign (this makes him sound dictatorial, which might be a misstep and I apologize for any confusion or libel).
I would like to humbly suggest myself as an appropriate challenger, please. The evening of Super Art Fight 12 will be just shy of my one year anniversary as a Super Art Fighter and if I may say so without seeming cocky (or any less vulgar-sounding expression of the same sentiment), I have done quite well. Through (polite) combat and wielding panache and expertise (if I may make an approximation like that of myself (which I probably should not, but it cannot be helped in this matter of proving my point (I hope you wont view it as a manipulation of facts (if so, I beg forgiveness)))) I have won victories (likely by very, very, very small (and always surprising) margins) and suffered only a single loss (to a worthy (and also handsome) competitor who completely deserved his win).
Therefore, I come to you on my knees (I am actually writing out this letter while on my knees for the sake of authenticity) to beg (humbly) for a chance to lose to Michael Bracco in the Title Fight at Super Art Fight 12. While it is no doubt he is the superior fighter (and, I would imagine, player of musical instruments) and completely worthy of an enduring record such as his (moreso, even, but we have to account for a margin of error), I should like the opportunity to try and crush him into the stage floor (not likely, of course (nor literally, as Ottobar would be most displeased)) on November 19, 2011.
I hope this message is not seen as impertinent and is taken in the humble, kind and jovial spirit in which it’s intended.
Yours nicely,
Brandon J. Carr
How could anyone say no to that?
So consider it set as our MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING as Michael Bracco aims to go ONE YEAR as champion, tying his prior reign, and Brandon J. Carr attempts to celebrate ONE YEAR of Art Fighting as the new champion – it will be…
Super Art Fight Championship Bout
Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco (Champion)
vs.
“The Nicest Man In Art Fight” Brandon J. Carr (Challenger)
Get your tickets TODAY, and come out to the Ottobar in Baltimore, MD on November 19th to see the action as it takes place – Super Art Fight 12, our final show of 2011 – will it be the beginning of a new era?

Hey, do you guys remember just over a year ago, when it was Super Art Fight 8 and we did an awesome show with the absolutely amazing MC Frontalot?
Well, if you can believe it, he was sick as a dog during the show, but it never once came through in his stunning performance.
Then, a little birdy told us that Front was coming back through town, this Sunday, in fact – November 6th at our home, The Ottobar in Baltimore, MD.
So, being as we have a big show there to promote in just a few weeks, we figured – it’s time for a MURAL!
That’s right – this Sunday, MC Frontalot will be performing at the Ottobar, and he’ll be accompanied by a live mural creation by two of Super Art Fight’s best – Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi and Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco.
If that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be taking topic suggestions for the next iteration of The Wheel of Death! (Don’t worry, the online form for that is coming up soon, too…)
Either way, it’s a heck of a way to wrap up your weekend. See us in Washington, DC this Saturday Night, then see us and a completely healthy MC Frontalot at the Ottobar on Sunday Night. Awesome, yes? BE THERE!
Tickets are on sale now at MissionTix.com.
