The Greatest Live Art Competition in the Known Universe continues their expansion across the United States as on Saturday Night, January 19th, 2013 they make their Los Angeles debut at the Nerdmelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics!

Super Art Fight, founded in June 2008 in Baltimore, Maryland, has built a legacy of live event appearances at conventions such as ROFLCon in Boston, Otakon in Baltimore and Macworld/iWorld in San Francisco, but their true bread and butter has been their stand alone live events, drawing sold out crowds throughout the East Coast.  On January 19th, they expand westward, doing their first ever stand-alone live event on the West Coast, supercharging Los Angeles’ Nerdmelt Showroom, one of the coolest and hottest places for nerdy events and live comedy.

Looking to add to a legacy including live podcast tapings from comedians such as Greg Proops and Doug Benson, the monthly Harmontown show from Dan Harmon, and the buzz-filled The Meltdown with Jonah & Kumail, Super Art Fight promises a unique event which mixes live art, pro-wrestling style characters and storytelling and improvised commentary for a combination which is truly unlike anything else hitting the stage today.

On tap for the January 19th show is a mixture of Super Art Fight veterans and luminaries from across the world of comics.

Scheduled to appear are:

  • Super Art Fight Champion Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi
When breaking into a new market, you always need the best, and there is no one better at art fighting than the champion. Jamie Noguchi, creator of the webcomic Yellow Peril and co-creator of Super Art Fight established himself as one of the best nearly five years ago, and remains strong. The leader of Team IMPACT, he promises to make an impact of his own in LA on January 19th.
  • “Baron Von Sexyful” Michael Bracco
One half of the infamous “Team Sexyfulness”, Bracco has dominated the singles ranks since his debut in September 2008, and now is looking to earn himself tag team gold. Appearing in singles competition, the flamboyant and over the top Bracco may design intricate comics like The Creators and Novo by day, but he will bring a beautiful disaster to the canvas and meltdown the NerdMelt Showroom when we make our Los Angeles debut.
  • Ethan Nicolle
Artist and creator of the wildly popular webcomic Axe Cop (written by his younger brother Malachai), Ethan joined us at our ROFLCon 2012 show and quickly picked up some lethal art fighting skills. Now, with the Los Angeles debut, we’re on his home turf, and there’s little doubt – if he’s like the lead character in his comic, Ethan’s gonna take some heads with him.
  • Lea Hernandez
A true pioneer in the world of independent and webcomics, co-creator of Killer Princesses and creator of Rumble Girls and The Garlicks, Lea makes her Super Art Fight debut with us in Los Angeles, and she will not be denied her victory!

The card for the evening will be as follows:

BOUT 1: Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi versus “Axe Cop”‘s Ethan Nicole

BOUT 2: “Baron Von Sexyful” Michael Bracco versus Lea “The Hatchet” Hernandez

BOUT 3, YOUR MAIN EVENT: A REDEMPTION Tag Team match, as the winners from Bouts 1 and 2 battle the Losers from Bouts 1 and 2, as we give the losers one last chance to make their moment in the City of Angels.

All bouts will be hosted by, and commentated upon, by Marty Day and Ross Nover.

You’ll laugh, you’ll be grossed out, you’ll hear terrible puns, you’ll get stupid, but most of all, you’ll have a great time – it’s Super Art Fight!
