SDAC #6 – The Moon’s Revenge

Last week, NASA shot an empty rocket into the butt of the moon to try to find water.  For this week’s Super Double Awesome Challenge, we want you to imagine the Moon’s revenge.  What would the Moon crash into Earth to exact sweet, interstellar revenge?  You have until this Friday to upload your piece to our Flickr group. Good luck!

SDAC #5 Winner – Steve Baird

Harpoonken

Super Double Awesome Challenge fighter Steve Baird strikes again with his interpretation of the ultimate street fighter, Eskimo dude!  Congrats, Steve.  Anyone who can harpoon a shark with an energy blast is a badass in our book!

SDAC #5 – Ultimate Street Fighter

This week we want you to imagine that Capcom has called you up to design the Ultimate Street Fighter, a character that will make even Akuma mess himself. The character can be any gender, age, ethnicity, use any fighting style. The only stipulation is that the character cannot use weapons of any kind other than his or her body parts. Body parts can be modified, but no projectile weapons are allowed unless they are energy based like a Shoryuken or Sonic Boom or Yoga Flame. You have until this Friday to upload your piece to our Flickr group. Good luck!

SDAC #4 Winner – Eric Ways

Killer Yogi Bear

Congratulations to Eric Ways for his “Cyber Killer Bear” entry!  Now I want to be clear, you DO NOT have to bleed on your artwork to win a challenge.  But dammit, it can’t hurt.  I can’t believe Eric used his ACTUAL BLOOD to color his piece.  Sick sick sick and totally AWESOME!  Hell, if it’s good enough for KISS, it’s good enough for SUPER ART FIGHT!

SDAC #4: Cyber Killer Bears

Well, we only had one entry in last week’s online battle so we can’t really call it a battle.  Steven Baird’s entry was really good, but in Super Art Fight, you don’t get points if your opponent doesn’t show up.  I blame the topic which is totally my fault (jami).  So this week, I want to see some Cyber Killer Bears!  They can be giant grissleys or cute widdle pandas, but they must be cyber and killer.  So bust out your best bear and we’ll see if we can’t have a real competition this week!  You have until this Friday to upload your piece to our Flickr group.  Good luck!

SDAC Round #3: Kanye vs. Serena

So, which celebrity had the best rage out last week?  Was it Kanye interupting Taylor Swift at the VMA’s or was it Serena yelling at the line judge on the tennis court?  And who would win in a battle between them?  You have until this Friday to upload your piece to our Flickr group.  Good luck!

SDAC Round #2 Winner – Brian Frost and Amy Pineault

9vsDistrict9_BrianFrost_AmyPineault

Congratulations to Brian Frost and Amy Pineault for winning Round #2 of SDAC, 9 vs. District 9.  There’s such determination in 9’s expression.  He’s gonna save those prawns no matter what!

Thanks to all who sent in a submission!

SDAC Round #2: 9 vs. District 9

It’s prawns vs. sock puppets, post apocalyptic world vs. alien ghetto, incredibly cute vs. egregiously ugly!  For this round, it’s up to you to pit the cute sock puppets of the movie 9 against the creepy looking prawns from the movie District 9.  You have until this Friday to upload your piece to our Flickr group.  Good luck!

SDAC Round #1 Winner – Steve Baird

Marvel vs. Disney - Steve Baird, Esq.

Congratulations to our first winner, Steve Baird!  Wall-E’s expression is just so heart-breaking.

Thank you to all who participated!

SDAC ROUND 1: Marvel vs. Disney!

Alright folks, if you’ve already participated in Hawk’s little mini challenge, you’ve already done this one. But our first round in the Super Double Awesome Challenge (SDAC) is Marvel vs. Disney! You have until Friday of this week to hand in your entry. Remember to put Marvel vs. Disney when you submit to our Flickr group.

Good luck!
