SAF12: Battle Of The Big Men Signed!

This past August at Super Art Fight 11, the search for the first ever Super Art Fight Idol came to a close, and the victor was one Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau.

Having beaten 14 other competitors this past May, and defeated one final competitor at SAF11, he has made an impact since first tackling the canvas – and it’s not just in his impressive art fighting skill, either (having defeated SAF Champion Michael Bracco & SAF Co-Founder Nick Borkowicz in a 3-way dance in Frederick, MD last month).

In an increasingly surreal roster made up of unique characters and loud personalities, Darl is calm and reserved.  A man of few words, his actions speak much louder – his large frame allowing him to tower over much of the SAF roster, his head to toe tattoos making him stand out as much as some of the elaborate costumes seen on our artists.

Hm. Man of few words. Actions speaking louder. Large frame, allowing him to tower over others…

That sounds a good bit like our own Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville!

Having returned after his heartbreaking SAF title loss at SAFX, Prindiville has stricken an alliance with the crazy men in Team Impact, but he still longs for solo stardom.  He’s been to the summit of the mountain – but this time, he wants to reach the top and conquer it.

So, with two strong personalities who strike fear into the rest of the competition from sheer strength and ability, we just HAD to throw them at each other.

At Super Art Fight 12, Saturday Night, November 19th in Baltimore, Maryland, live at The Ottobar, we’re proud to announce a battle of the hosses! It will be…

Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau versus Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville

This is a FIRST TIME Super Art Fight battle that is sure to blow you away.  A mysterious rookie looking to make his way to the top, a strong veteran looking to restart his run to the same – this is going to be a hell of a battle.

Be sure to join us LIVE and IN PERSON – tickets are on sale NOW at MissionTix.com for just $15!

SAF12: A Message From Henry Alexander

When we last heard from Super Art Fight Idol Finalist Henry Alexander, he was fresh off of his loss to Darl Gnau. The “Business Ninja” has remained silent since his defeat this past August, but he reappeared this evening with a very important video message.

Here it is, for you fans who may not have seen it on our Twitter.

As much as one may want to refute his statements in the video, the newly renamed “The Business” did speak truth – he has obtained a Super Art Fight Tag Title Shot.

On November 19th at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland at Super Art Fight 12, the match is signed and will happen…

Super Art Fight Tag Team Title Bout
“The Business” Henry Alexander & “Charm City Shinobi” Dann Malihom
versus
“Ghostfreehood” Nick Borkowicz & Kelsey “Killer” Wailes (Champions)

This is going to be a heck of a bout, and it looks like the stakes are getting personal. Join us on November 19th to see how it all goes down!

New Posters And A New Shirt For Upcoming Shows!

Something we’ve really gotten into lately is making some very rad keepsake posters and t-shirts for you fine fans who come to our shows.

As we have two very big events in Washington DC and Baltimore, MD coming up (on November 5th and 19th, respectively), we thought we’d take the time to share these posters, and give you a glimpse at the new shirt that will be at our merch table.

The first poster is for our November 5th return to the Red Palace in Washington, DC. The poster features art from our own Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz, with typesetting by our SAF co-host Ross Nover!

The other poster is for the BIG mamajamma, Super Art Fight 12, coming up on November 19th at The Ottobar in Baltimore, MD - typesetting is again from Ross, but the art credit here goes to Super Art Fight Champion, Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco.

We’ll be providing you more details on Super Art Fight 12 this week, but that poster should start to give you an idea of the show (including naming both of our musical guests, who we’ll be posting more about soon).

Limited edition high quality prints of these posters will be available at our merch stands (which you can get signed by the Super Art Fight roster), but for those who instead like to wear their Super Art Fight love, we have a BRAND NEW T-SHIRT!

Designed (and modeled) by Michael Bracco, this shirt is based on the Western/Quick Draw theme seen on the Super Art Fight 12 poster, and is sure to show the world that you saw something awesome.  Again, this shirt will be available at our merch booth at all forthcoming shows, so you’ll want to pick one up!

Super Art Fight’s Return To DC NOW HAS A CARD!

On Saturday Night, November 5th, 2011, we at Super Art Fight are proud to be making our return to the Nation’s Capital, Washington DC at one of our homes away from home, the wonderful Red Palace.

We’ve already announced our musical guest for the evening, the video game rockers in Rare Candy, now we’re ready to announce our three bout card, sending our roster of talented artists onto the road to Super Art Fight 12!

The Red Palace has held two of our most outrageous shows to date, so we knew we had to deliver with this card, and deliver we have, with three super solid bouts featuring some of our best talents to tackle the canvas.

Coming up on November 5th, you will see these three bouts!

“The Nicest Man in Art Fight” Brandon J. Carr versus Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau

2011 has been a heck of a year for new talent in Super Art Fight. Brandon J. Carr, while a 2010 debut, has truly made a name for himself, defeating many of SAF’s top talents and carving his niche as a unique star in the mix of the Super Art Fight roster while ascending to the top row of championship contenders. Opposing Carr on November 5th is Darl Gnau. Having risen above 15 other competitors through the Super ARt Fight Idol tournament, he has made a big splash since becoming a full time member of the SAF roster back at Super Art Fight 11, and even defeated SAF Champion Michael Bracco and SAF co-founder Nick Borkowicz earlier this month.  This bout is all about two hungry fighters striving to make their name in Super Art Fight and is sure to be one of the most hard fought all night long. Strap in – this is gonna be a good one!

Jamie “Brawlin” Baldwin versus Chris “Impact” Impink

Chris Impink and Jamie Baldwin have each been a part of Super Art Fight since it’s inception.  Both have seen the growth of the company alongside their growth as SAF veterans and legends in the making.  But over 2011, each has battled to keep their spot amongst growing adversity. Impink has found success reinventing himself as the battling robot “MECHA IMPINK”, but for Jamie Baldwin, she’s been trying to fight her way out of a tough spot. Since dropping the SAF title at the beginning of the year to Michael Bracco, she’s tried her hand at the tag world, fought in singles, but nothing has yet to stick.  With just two events remaining in the Super Art Fight calendar year, it’s time for these fighters to gain momentum heading into 2012 – but who will make the true IMPACT?

Super Art Fight Champion Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco versus Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi in a non-title bout

This is a true battle of Super Art Fight titans. On one side, Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco, the current and only two-time Super Art Fight Champion, the main who has become the face of Super Art Fight. On the other, the crazy and unpredictable Angry Zen Master, Jamie Noguchi, the first ever Super Art Fight Champion and co-creator of this sport we call our own. The last time these gentlemen battled was before a sold-out Frederick, Maryland audience and the bout came down to the wire. This time, they’re in DC and ANYTHING can and will happen.  Be at the Red Palace to see whose hand is raised in victory.

Tickets will be on sale soon for our DC return, at just $15. Be sure to get your tickets early, as The Red Palace fills up quickly. We can’t wait to see you there!

We’ll be taking to the Red Palace stage for a 3rd time on Saturday Night, November 5th, 2011.

The Red Palace has housed some of our craziest events, and we’re very excited to return with a stacked three bout card.  We’ll be announcing the bouts on Monday Night, right here at SuperArtFight.com, but we’re excited to announce a unique twist for our latest appearance in the nation’s capital.

Since we broke into the DC market, our fans have wondered if we could find a way to do an 18+ show, we’re proud to say that on November 5th, the show will be admitting those 18 and up.  And, to bring a taste of what you get in Baltimore, we’re proud to feature a musical act for the evening…

Joining us on November 5th is a SAF crowd favorite, and a band we can’t wait to perform with again – RARE CANDY!

This Saturday Night! SUPER ART FIGHT Returns To FREDERICK, MARYLAND!

Last March, we at Super Art Fight had the honor and pleasure of making our Frederick, Maryland debut, showcasing our unique traveling live art competition in front of a sold out crowd at the amazing Cultural Arts Center.

This Saturday night, October 8th, we return with a packed card featuring some of Super Art Fight’s absolute best – and, for those who were unfortunately shut out last time, we’ve moved into the facilites larger room to allow for a bigger audience.  The event features some of our most elite homegrown talent, and we cannot wait to bring the fury back to Frederick.

The doors for the show open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm, your hosts are our standard commentary team of Marty Day and Ross Nover.

Here’s what you will see tackling the canvas on Saturday night.

Super Art Fight Tag Champion Kelsey “Killer” Wailes vs. Chris “Impact” Impink
Having battled on separate sides of relentless tag team action back at Super Art Fight XI in Baltimore, Wailes and Impink battle one on one as the feud between these teams continues through 2011.  Wailes is looking to avenge her heartbreaking loss against Michael Bracco at SAFXI and wants to return to the top of the singles rankings, while Impink wants to keep his positive momentum since forming Team Impact rolling into SAF12 next month. Who will come out on top?

Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi vs. Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville
For Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville, it’s been nearly six months since he’s been in an Art Fight proper. Last seen fighting Michael Bracco for the Super Art Fight Championship, Prindiville has been even more silent than usual, keeping quiet and waiting for the time to re-enter the fray. At Super Art Fight XI, he shocked the SAF fanbase by returning as a member of Team Impact, being a crucial third member for Super Art Fight’s newest stable, but Saturday night, he returns against one of his new friends.  As the road to Super Art Fight 12 begins, the SAF Championship Committee is looking for new contenders to battle against the dominant Michael Bracco, and when it comes to championships, there is no such thing as friendships.  But don’t count out Jamie Noguchi – co-founder of this very company, he is one of the most wily and skilled competitors in all of SAF, and Prindiville has never had to battle an opponent so wild and unpredictable.  This will be one to watch for sure!

Generational Three Way Dance: Super Art Fight Tag Champion Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz vs. Super Art Fight Champion Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco vs. Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau
Returning to a city that clearly loves Super Art Fight as much as Frederick, we knew that we needed to deliver something truly special as the main event of the card.  And lo, we bring you three generations of Super Art Fight tackling the canvas.  In Nick Borkowicz, you have one of the founders, the pioneer of this unique art form and competition that has mystified audiences and blown away crowds since its inception three years ago. In Michael Bracco, you have the first true star of Super Art Fight, a man who started in the opening bout of our first show and has worked his way to the top, becoming a memorable fan favorite and a two time SAF Champion. And in Darl Gnau, you have the newest generation of Art Fighter, having just become a full time part of the Super Art Fight roster at SAFXI.  Here, he faces not just one, but two of his hardest tests. The future of Super Art Fight will be at stake in this one, and we cannot wait to showcase it in Frederick, Maryland.

Additionally, serving as live, improvised musical accompaniment,  we are proud to announce that Dominic Cerquetti will be joining us in attendance, melting faces with his keyboards!

Tickets will be available at the door for just $10, but can be pre-purchased by calling 301-662-4190!

For those who are looking to make this weekend a Super Art Fight weekend, if you are in the Baltimore area be sure to check out the amazing Death Star Art Show, an art show mashing up horror favorites with Star Wars, featuring many Super Art Fight competitors past and present.

Webcomics Con looks to be an absolutely fantastic event for fans of webcomics, with a packed guest list and a show location that is, if the hotel website is any indication, simply stunning.  Somehow, we found ourselves on the guest list, and we look forward to bringing forth a great show with a top to bottom solid card.
