Super Art Fight 2/22 Black Cat Results: Sold Out Crowd Sees Us Crown the ‘King of the Cat’!

Friday night, February 22nd, 2013 will go down in history as a very important night for us at Super Art Fight, as we made our official debut at the Black Cat in Washington, DC to an absolutely jam packed live crowd. 100% Sold Out, and from what we understand, the venue was inundated with phone calls all day long, asking if there were any last minute tickets available.  We cannot underline how thankful we are for the amazing response, and we can tell you now that our return to the venue is very likely.

That said, none of it would have mattered if we hadn’t given you an amazing card, and with an energized crowd, the SAF roster stepped up to the plate, delivering a hard fought King of the Cat tournament and some stunning tag action. If you missed it, here are the results in full.

  1. King of the Cat Opening Round: Brandon J. Carr defeated Ghostfreehood.
  2. King of the Cat Opening Round: Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi defeated Baron Von Sexyful – The decibel level read for this match was confirmed by referee Brandon Chalmers as the highest ever in SAF history.
  3. The Stompadons (Stompadon + Derpadon) defeated The Business Ninjas (Henry Alexander + Dann Malihom) – of note, post match, Malihom had some interesting statements on Twitter, about refocusing after this loss. We will have to see how that plays out moving forward.
  4. King of the Cat FINALSBrandon J. Carr defeated Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi – This was an absolutely key win for Carr. Brandon J. Carr was returning to singles action for the first time since his SAF title loss to Noguchi last year, and not only did he pull off a tournament win, but also defeated the man who took his title – and is the current champion. While Carr is currently focused in the tag division with his partner Red Erin, you have to believe that if he wants to make a play for another shot at the SAF title, he has the wins to back it up.

Where do we go from here? A return to our hometown venue, the always amazing Ottobar on March 30th. We mentioned this on Facebook and Twitter over the weekend, but we are underlining it here – Our last 2 DC shows, and our last Ottobar appearance completely, 100% sold out, with our last Ottobar show actually selling over capacity. If you wish to join us live in Baltimore on March 30th – get your tickets in advance. They’re available right now at, and later this week, we’ll be announcing the SAF Title Bout for Jamie “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi. It’s a big one, so lock in early!
